Come Together: Kurtis' Pride Story
This month, we Come Together:
Overcoming a challenging year of pandemic lockdowns.
Recognizing the team that keeps our Prairie Records’ spirit alive.
Supporting the communities we are a part of and have always welcomed Prairie Records into their fold.
In honour of PRIDE month, we’re taking a step further and coming together to celebrate Kurtis' unique PRIDE story. Kind, courteous and incredibly helpful, Kurtis is our Senior Team Lead based out of Saskatchewan. He shares his unique PRIDE story and perspective.
I was born and raised in the small town of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. Being raised in a small town meant hiding in fear of being who you truly were inside, as the views of your peers did not always match the truth you felt in your heart. As a metis person, two spirited individual and an older brother to two mentally disabled siblings, I was faced with many hardships which made me who I am today. I was always taught to speak my truth, treat people with respect, dignity, kindness, love and to always take PRIDE in the person I was yesterday and the person I will be tomorrow. I love being part of the Prairie Records Team for this exact reason. No matter what walk of life you come from, you are welcomed and always encouraged to be yourself and to take PRIDE in all that you are.
Thank you, Kurtis.
And, thank you to our Prairie Records community for continuing to Come Together this PRIDE month and the last year.
